TOURISM SUSTAINABILITY PLAN
Presentation and objectives
The Commonwealth of Islantilla (Lepe and Isla Cristina) is currently developing, and will continue to develop until July 2026, the Tourism Sustainability Plan for the Destination 'Between Green and Blue', with a grant of 2,589,440 euros from the European funds NextGenerationEU.
This investment aims to provide a new boost to the efforts already underway by this entity to deseasonalize this tourist destination, as well as to maintain and strengthen the Islantilla brand as a benchmark in the offering of nature and water sports. At the same time, it will consolidate concepts in which Islantilla has been a pioneer for three decades, such as sustainability and the regeneration of the natural environment, the circular economy, energy efficiency, connectivity between the urban centers that make up the Community, the digital transition, and more.
The proposed actions align with the National Strategy for Sustainable Tourism in Destinations and are classified into the four axes of this strategy:
