The game of hide and seek,

Patricia Highsmith

Patricia Highsmith, a master of suspense, is one of the most provocative authors of contemporary fiction. Born in Texas, she studied in New York and at a very young age gave herself over to the impulse of writing. Her works were better received in Europe, where she moved permanently after having lived for a while in Mexico. In her novels, such as Hide and Seek, published in 1967, she places her characters in the grey areas of a blurred border between good and evil, to unleash a plot in which crime and guilt mix in a game where, often, nothing is what it seems.
