In cold blood,
Truman Capote
Truman Capote is considered one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century and his novel, In Cold Blood, is undoubtedly the work that established him as such. After an intense process of documentation in which he dealt directly with some of the real protagonists of the story, the author published what he calls a “non-fiction novel”; the chilling chronicle of the murders of the four members of the Clutter family, which took place in a peaceful little town in Kansas in the late 1950s. A savage crime, apparently without motivation, which shook the foundations of American society at the time. Brilliantly written, critics soon hailed this novel as Truman Capote’s great masterpiece.
