The project aims to connect and provide continuity along the coastline with a cycling route, linking to the east with the existing cycle and pedestrian path in La Antilla, and to the west with two planned cycling routes by the Isla Cristina City Council: one connecting to the Paseo de Poniente at its junction with Paseo de Riofrío, with a greater focus on sustainable mobility; and another connecting to the same Paseo de Poniente at its junction with the Paseo Marítimo and Calle Ballena in Urbasur, this latter route being more geared towards tourism, and envisioning a future connection to Isla Cristina through the pine forest.

The project to be carried out consists of a cycle path, with two-way traffic and divided into two sections: one that runs through the Río Frío Avenue Park in an East-West direction, and another that runs through the Paseo de Poniente in a North-South direction.

The first section aims to create a route integrated into the existing landscape, prioritizing respect for the existing vegetation. The planned route, while maintaining a distance from the pedestrian walkway bordering the park to the south, will run through the central area of the green space to minimize disruption from the A-5054 road (La Antilla – Isla Cristina). The second section will run along the Paseo de Poniente and will be located in the current central pedestrian area. To construct this section, the existing benches will be removed, as experience has shown that their number is excessive. This will free up space on the promenade so that the bike lane can be adjacent to the flowerbed.

The Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination 'Between Green and Blue', integrated into the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, is financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU Funds, and represents an investment of 2,589,440 euros in the area of Islantilla, Lepe and Isla Cristina channeled through the Ministry of Industry and Tourism of the Government of Spain, and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía.

Its implementation is being carried out by different Areas and Departments of the Commonwealth of Islantilla, in collaboration with the City Councils of Lepe and Isla Cristina.

38

post-6313","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pstd
["GET
